WHAT WE DID
CATEGORY

Renewing the lighting of the A'DAM Tower was a complex project. We had to take into account the architecture of the tower, the various functions of the building, and its visibility from the city. We carried out the project in three steps:

About the Project

The story

The A'DAM Tower is an icon in Amsterdam, a place where you can eat, work, relax, dance, be inspired, and sleep. In 2011, OneEightyOne was commissioned to provide the lighting for the tower. Now, 13 years later, it was time to renew the lighting with sustainable and future-proof LED solutions.

THE
PROCESS

We started with an inventory of the existing lighting. We looked at which fixtures were there, where they were placed and how they functioned. Based on this inventory, we created a new lighting plan.

The new LED fixtures were then installed. We used innovative techniques for this, such as climbing and abseiling.

The final step was programming the lighting. We installed an advanced control system that allows us to create different lighting scenes.
