About the Project

The story

For Samsung, OneEightyOne delivered a dynamic architectural lighting solution designed to enhance the building’s visual identity through high-quality LED facade lighting and intelligent light control systems. By combining advanced LED technology with precision-engineered DMX control, the installation creates smooth color transitions, dynamic lighting effects, and a modern media facade experience.

Using programmable RGBW LED lighting and custom lighting solutions, the facade was transformed into a vibrant visual element that strengthens the building’s appearance during both day and night. The lighting system was developed for flexibility, energy efficiency, and reliable long-term performance in a commercial architectural environment.

OneEightyOne supported the project from technical engineering and testing to commissioning and installation assistance, ensuring seamless integration between the LED fixtures, control systems, and architectural design. The result is a clean and contemporary dynamic lighting installation that reflects Samsung’s innovative identity.

THE
PROCESS

360 degrees enlightened

For this design we received a design with inspiration of how they wanted it to be. On the basis of this, one of our project managers made a technical proposal. The triangles are built out of 40mm round opal tubes. These tubes provide 360 degrees all-round lighting. Because we used a special coupling piece, all creative shapes can be formed, like in this case the triangles. 

The execution

For this project we have made 18 triangles. For every triangle we used 3 tubes. These tubes were 1 meter long. By using the coupling pieces at the end of the tubes, everything could easily be attached to each other. This way all triangles were easily put together. The triangles have been hung up with thin steel wires which are barely visible. Our client TCHAI has installed the triangles in the store themselves. 

Play content

The content that is played on the triangles, is programmed with Madrix. After the programming the content can be played with the DiGidot C4 Extended. They can choose from various moving scenes that match Samsung's color palette. This content is perfectly integrated with the other lighting in the building. For example the effect of the triangles continues in the LED screen hanging above the triangles, which completes the entire appearence.
